Welcome to 2026, SYA Members!

Our January meeting will be held next week, Thursday January 22, at 7pm in the SES library. You can get into the building through the cafeteria doors and (if we are lucky) we will get some volunteers to watch the kiddos in the gym while we meet (so you don't have to leave them at home, unless you want to).  

We have a lot of fun things coming up, but before we get to that, we have a sad announcement.  SYA benefactor and huge lover of baseball, Mr. Al Snyder Jr., passed away on January 1 at 90 years young. Mr. Snyder volunteered for many, many years in SYA, serving as Treasurer (for 15 years!) and helping to found Salisbury's Connie Mack and Legion baseball programs. His support keeps these programs running to this day, what a legacy!!! We send our prayers to his family and loved ones and hold his memory in our hearts! 

Did you know...

Volunteering is linked to reduced stress and better overall health. Not just because of the social aspect, like meeting new people in the community, or because of the spiritual aspect of being such a nice and helpful person, but also because when we engage in work that does not relate to our regular, day-to-day problems, we build perspective.  In other words, it helps us get out of our own heads.  So, at SYA we welcome all kinds of helpers with open arms...coaches, assistant coaches, office support, Concession Stand helpers, planning committee members...anyone interested in volunteering, even if you are not sure what you can do, let me know (secretary@syasports.net) and we can find a perfect spot for you in SYA, I'm sure of it!
