Happy December SYA Members! Congratulations to our Winter Sports programs that are off and running. Congratulations to SYA Cheer for hosting another amazing Friends-Giving Cheer Tournament last month (and with such amazing food!). Thank you to everyone who came down to Laubach in the cold last week to donate toys for our local families in need, we are so lucky to be in such a generous community.

At our next meeting, 7pm next Thursday (12/18) in the Salisbury High School cafeteria, we will have our annual potluck Holiday gathering to celebrate everyone's hard work all year. If you are interested in bringing a dish, reach out to me (secretary@syasports.net) and I'll send you over the sign-up genius. As always, all members are welcome to all meetings.

For wrestling lovers, on 12/21, SYA is hosting novice, JV and varsity wrestling matches at SHS all day! It's the same day that the National Honors Society (NHS) is holding their free gift-wrapping event also at the high school so all you lucky wrestling fans, get ready to enjoy cheering on our amazing SYA wrestlers while getting your holiday gifts wrapped by brilliant SHS students! What a great day!

For our parade loving families: Baseball is organizing an awesome 75 Years of SYA Baseball Opening Day event, including a parade and all sorts of fun things on April 11, 2026! Our In-House Baseball Director, Kenny, is seeking an Assistant Director, Treasurer, or any other helpful position for the In-house baseball program, which is a great opportunity for anyone who loves baseball, loves working with kids and who wants a chance to play a bigger role in our community! And on a somewhat serious note, for all of our community and family members who suffer from the winter blues, keep in mind that all over the world there are studies and books and articles that agree on the following vital piece of wisdom: Doing things with people leads to increased experiences of joy! Come out to any or all of these events, reach out to your favorite coach or sport's director and offer to volunteer, join us at any of our Board meetings (usually at least one board member does or says something that causes everyone to laugh - not necessarily on purpose but that's not the point) and chase those winter blues away!
